People with a good understanding of Financial Rules and ITFC's position 11:29 - Aug 13 with 698 viewsArnoldMoorhen

Are there any on here?

ITFC seem to have gone hard with the spending this summer. I understand that deals are amortised over the length of the contract. I also understand that player sales don't have to be amortised and can apply to the season of the sale, even if the payment is made in instalments, for the purposes of financial sustainability rules.

My question is: Jaden Philogene has asked for a transfer and figures like £30m have been bandied around. But we haven't sold him yet. Are the signings we have made within sustainability rules as things stand, or are we in trouble if Jaden doesn't complete his move for close to £30m?

SoffolkPunch posted this a day or so ago (which aligns with my thoughts on the situation):

No particular need to sell. Hence also offloading players we don't need via loans rather than sales tro get every penny possible in.

p.s. Has Philogene actually asked for a transfer?

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
