Will we need a big sale necessarily? Our revenue in 2024-25 was £155m. Similar revenue this season would allow us to spend £131.75m on squad costs before sanctions and £178.25m before sporting sanctions.
As it stands we'll have to put £65-70m worth of transfer amortisation in the books for this season. Player wages come out of the rest of that headroom, but even the lower end of that headroom is a wage bill of £1.2m per week (or an an average wage of £40-45k per week per player). Not impossible we're just happily within our SCR thresholds. |  |

Good luck with that - unless they're all under 21, 8 players in would also mean 12 players out in the next 2 weeks (just the 4 players out if they're all U21)

Don't forget that the TV money is on a new cycle since 25-26 - with more games available.
Impact is significant - for example, TV Revenue for us in 24-25 was ~£107M - finishing 19th with 10 live games (lowest in division I think). Last season Burnley finished 19th, had 17 live matches (More games were being broadcast broadcast live on Sundays) and had a TV revenue of ~£136M.
That's nearly £30M more in the income coffers . . . |  | | |

Our wages last time out in the PL were £77m, you would think they will be 50% higher this time around at least given so many of the last squad had come up from L1. Even changes like AAH to Akpom and Luongo to Nunez aren't going to be insignificant.
Player wages will be the vast majority of the spend relative to income. Net transfer spend from an SCR perspective will actually be relatively low I think. £200m of incomings on 4-5 year deals is £40m - £50m additional on this years books, plus amortising existing players gets us around £70m I guess. I think we'll probably land at net at c. £20m - £30m of transfer related cost this year when factoring in small profits through 'bits and pieces' departures. Eg. Clarke, Palmer, Taylor, Hirst, Muric and potentially one bigger one. |  | | |
