Those 3 are real needle movers for me.
I like the signings of Maeda, Lukic and Diop. Solid and experienced internationals, with tons of top flight experience between them. They're not ones that entirely bridge the gap though.
The others do IMO. Real X factor, top quality. Get them all done and lets cook as the kids might say. |  | | |  |

I think the difference this time is that we did some solid business early in the spine - Diop, Lukic, Luis etc. and from a slightly more solid base such that the business we do in the late stages where you can get a little frisky has a bit of mitigation. Last time up Phillips had to work otherwise it was Luongo coming in.
These are wonderful signings to make on a permanent basis and lifts our level significantly. I'd still look to make another defensive signing (probably centre back if O'Shea is seen wide) and try and sprinkle a bit of stardust behind the strikers if you can pull a rabbit out of the hat. |  | | |

Yep - they are 3 that really move the needle. Players that wouldn't look out of place in Europa League teams. All of them are good ages too and not once good players past their best.
I've had my reservations re Palacios injury record but it's a deal you have to do if you can. I guess you play the numbers game and hope you can get 25-30 starts out of him. Anything more is a bonus.
Enciso - we know what he can do. Was our best, most impactful player post Jan 2025 for me. Looked a level above our other 10s/wingers (and I include Omari in that). He's become a better more mature player since then as well.
Embolo is a player I just really, really like. An all round striker who can a bit of everything. A player that improves a team and not just a goalscorer (although still gets goals at a decent rate). Comes with loads of experience across Germany and France and played at multiple Euros/World Cups. [Post edited 18 Aug 13:24]
