| Remove Dash Cam wiring from car after crash 08:22 - Aug 20 with 1409 views | Wolfshead | My car was crashed into yesterday and almost certainly it will be a write off. I have a front and rear dashcam - which has come in very handy in this situation. Halfords installed it for me as im a duffer at this kind of thing... so what i need to do is get the cabling out of this car ready for - someone, not me! - to install in a future new car. Does anyone know how difficult this might be? and how i do it? thanks | |

Especially if the car is a write off you don't need to be too careful about what you're ripping out.

I used this guy to remove a dash cam from my daughter’s old car, into her new: Chris Harding “FOB BOFF” Automotive electrical services +44 7707 900152 He was very good and thorough, but I admit wasn’t particularly cheap. Halfords had fitted the dashcam into car one, but had wired it incorrectly (it drained the battery) and incorrectly run the wires….

Get it done professionally so as to work correctly & not cause a battery drain in the new car, I hope everything goes as smooth as it can getting you accident loss sorted & if you are Ipswich area give Marine & Auto Electrcs a call he’s a total pro!

I've managed to grab the cameras themselves so thats the most important thing. the cabling around the top of the car is easy enough to pull out... its just the remaining bits... the front to the fuse box and the rear cabling... i'll work on it but other than that will seek cabling on ebay and try to find a specialist to reinstall. Im swindon based.

usually you have an interior fuse box (as opposed to the one in the bonnet) often under or around the glove compartment. depends on the car as to how easy it is to access! on my golf it was a bit of plastic you popped off to reach it, easily done without tools. Other cars have had it drop down under the glove compartment, google should tell you where it is | | | | Login to get fewer ads
