I’m in my forties and as a kid, I remember reading signs around PR stating that using abusive language could lead to being kicked-out and banned. Trying to prevent swearing at grounds isn’t anything new.
I guess the sanitation of football is heavily dependent on how you define it. Is banning fans shouting ‘get your tits out for the lads’ towards female officials or fans sanitation or simply plain decency?

I don't disagree about the use of woke, its not a term I like.
But i'm not sure how we've gone from 'its a bit ridiculous to not play a song because their fans shout fk off during it' to 'is it also wrong that xenophobia and racism isn't allowed on the terraces' though.

They never started. It was last used in 2004 and Nathan Shi used it as a bit of a method to get fans back on the owner's side by suggesting that they 'might' reintroduce it. The statement today is a statement of the bleedin' obvious.

Indeed they do, but only a few times a season, and never at a Black Country derby.
