Good luck to him, hope he does well there.

Just Leif, Walton and Humphreys left from the double promotion crew so?

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Barnsley goal gets the vote for best moment for sure, but that wave is a thing of beauty.

Good luck George, thanks for the memories.

Shout outs for his goal at Sunderland on the first day of 23/24 and the Coventry home game last season to seal the deal.

Looks like Jon Walters was instrumental in signing him.

Always liked the composure for the goal at Derby, and for some reasonhis first touch before rolling Philogene in against QPR last season stands out - the reel on club feed from behind goal is class

Best part about this goal was Hirst being slated on the Sky Comms for spurning that chance moments before. Curse of the commentator

Go well George. Absolute hero.

Still think that first league goal at Bolton started all that has happened since.

Thanks for the memories and amazing effort George. I wouldn't have been unhappy for you to stay, but you need to be playing. Stoke have a proper player and the fans will love you.
Best of luck George, I will watch with interest. Smash it.

Good luck hirst, right time to go, hope he has a good season and remaining career, did a cracking job for us, but we are definitely going in a different trajectory to The players of the back to back seasons, so it’s great that they have pretty much all Left on a high, with a place in all town fans hearts, and leaving nothing but great memories!!

I feel more sorry about his departure than Burns and Chaplin's because it was less expected and he is that bit younger.

Indeed, perhaps even he would have thought, prior to McKenna's departure, that he would at least have ended up as the third striker.

Barnsley away was obviously fantastic, but my favourite George memory is his goal at the Sister Worriers and his massive grin whilst giving them a little wave.

I love that Bolton goal probably one of my favs from the McKenna era it’s really undervalued and it’s was a highly technical goal.

Totally agree!

And it was so sweet because there were beginning to be rumblings about him not scoring and there was a total eejit in the away end giving him stick just before he scored. Great move. Wes with the after burners on and then bam what a finish.

That was the day the team showed character. Walton pen save too!

It was the beginning of those huge away performancea under pressure.

Goodbye lovely George you proved loads wrong here and annoyed all the right people.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

A genuinely special period in our history Mid Feb in league 1 to promotion to the premier league, I’ve not seen us be that good for a sustained period of time. Yes it wasn’t in the premier league or Europe but it’s without doubt the most enjoyable period I’ve seen and I include the 5th placed premier league finish in that. I think it was the fact that we had been so sh1t for a long time and people didn’t have confidence that we could deliver as we had failed so many times when there was a chance to walk through the door.
