My only thoughts to this is how easy is it going to be to encourage someone to the club who is only going to be a back up to Leif and ultimately have reduced game time. Perhaps a new Left CB that can cover Leif in the event. Ultimately if we were to stay up then we need to look at continued upgrades and it may be the case that we look to upgrade Leif and have Leif as the cover. Definitely need a new striker to complement the 2 in the building. | | | |

I agree almost entirely, I wouldn't necessarily want Taylor to go though, he came on leaps and bounds last season, i'd happily swap his place for Button considering we have a recall clause on van oevalen | |

Taylor is going to be miles off by the time we have finished recruiting. Palacios, Lukic, Luis, Matusiwa, Nunez. It's best for him to go and play in the Championship. Other than Mehmeti he is our most salable asset we won't miss this season. | | | |

Agree with those four in. Possibly also a 3rd GK if Palmer goes and Button doesn't take up the position.
I suspect with McAteer it's an either/or position with Mehmeti. With Philogene staying and Sindre looking better centrally, might that make McAteer as last-choice backup more attractive? Presuming Ogbene goes that is. | | | |

Taylor's going to essentially be 6th choice, he won't want that and we could sell him for a decent sum to help with all the outlays.
He played well last season, however, I don't think he's PL level. |  |

If Palacios joins, I think we're at 27 seniors.
Shipping Mehmeti and Palmer (or not registering Button) brings us to 25.
From there, it's a case of who we can realistically get/ship out in the time left.
In terms of squad depth and PL quality, in an ideal, Football Manager world . . . (so, probably unrealistic)
In:
1. LB (cover for, or defensively superior to, Davis)
2. RB (not sure about DOS against the best wingers in the PL, and is Furlong good enough? What's going on with Krépin Diatta? That said, if Outtara is good enough in this position, then we probably have enough with DOS/AO/DF)
3. CB (I'd still like someone of Diop levels to partner him with Greaves as very capable back-up - we were previously linked to Juma Bah [U21], but that seems to have gone quiet - plus wages)
4. RW (someone who can keep the levels up when we're without Fatawu - Azeez has been mentioned, though might be a step too high)
5. ST (we all know this need, but who's still available? I'd love Ueda but that doesn't seem likely. Ferguson? Flemming? Jesus?)
I imagine some of these will be loans and possibly U21s (obvs, the latter would in turn affect how many need to make way below).
Out:
1. Kipre (if above CB secured and not U21)
2. McAteer (if above RW secured and not U21 - that said, when we're under the cosh, KM's defensive abilities and work rate could be an asset GON values)
3. Ogbene (seemingly no future here; Derby were interested, but not sure now)
4. Taylor or Humphreys (T won't want to be sixth in line and lacks H's versatility, so I imagine T goes if we need the space - or both if we get the five above and none are U21s; with EP, FL, SL, AM, and MN, our central midfield is now suddenly looking very good)
But that is all very FM. In reality, whatever we can get done with who's available within five days, and on that I'd settle for one striker. It's already been an unbelievable window. | | | |
