Football shirts out in the wild… 12:33 - Aug 29 with 1328 viewshoppy

We spent the day in Norwich yesterday, shopping, on our way home from a week away. I was wearing my new Town away shirt… of course.

In the whole day, I only spotted 2 x Norwich shirts the whole time we were there. I did encounter several town fans though - a family with the dad in the blackout shirt, with one of the children wearing the home shirt from a few seasons back with the broad white stripe down the sleeve. A few others as well. I also had several people speaking to me because of the shirt, saying “up the Towen” or “Blue Army!” Etc. there was another old boy in a group of wedding party that came into the pub we were in who I heard mentioning my shirt to one of the others, and then kept looking at me, but didn’t say anything to me.

I was genuinely surprised not to see more of the locals in their own shirts though.

I did manage to stop myself from going into the NCFC shop section in Jarrolds and enquiring if they had any Premier League tickets… and from breaking out a rendition of the cranberries when in the pub!

It's never really been a football place, has it, never really had any reason to develop much of a football culture. Nevertheless, that level of being out-represented by your theoretical rivals in your own town is pretty sad for them.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

On my way to the station to catch the train up for tomorrow's game, I passed a young lad wearing a Utd top with Fernández on the back. Had to resist having a firm word!!

Had a similar experience about 4 or 5 years ago when we were rubbish and they were still yo-yoing between the Premier League & Championship. Was genuinely surprised.

Never happen in Ipswich would it. Can't remember seeing a Norwich shirt in town, other than match days.
