Brilliant viewing this. Cov really are awful and Frank looks really grumpy. Things you like to see. Maybe that will knock some reality into their pretentious heads

Is it them being pretentious or just all the pundits blowing smoke up their backsides? They can’t help it if the media are fawning over Lampard.

Could be their signing of the summer if miracles happen. He’s looked class for two games, so confident.

Agreed, he definitely looks Prem quality!

Shockingly bad result for Coventry on 17:03 - Aug 29 by pointofblue

We could have told them that before the season started. That's what made the pundits predictions so annoying. The difference in play, and what is required, from the Championship to the Premier League is astounding. The way we dispatched them with ease three times across 2025 should have been enough of a warning.

They were so open in the champ and struggled when the likes of Oxford went their and played a low block. Bizarre predictions all summer.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I think people have forgotten about how hard it is to finish above three teams in the Premier League. We would hope that two of those three would be Coventry and Hull.

Yep, but there is hardly an insurmountable gap between us and Hull and nor can there be at this early stage.

Indeed.

Hull however...I can see them doing well.

Watched the game, 2 really poor sides who in my opinion will be the bottom Two, Coventry were dire.

Hull were supremely awful at FPR last season. Zero ambition and plenty of early time wasting.

on 0.3 XG as well!

I don't think that's sustainable all season in the PL with the players they have, but then again underlying figures had them finishing bottom 5 in he champ last season.

Bottom 3. It's hard to believe they can keep outperforming their stats for much longer. Coventry did overcommit on a number of occasions though, and eventually got caught out. Not many teams will play as gung-ho as Coventry did today, to offer Hull those opportunities on the break. Hull do take those well though.

A really bad loss at home for Coventry. All of the pmoted clubs would have targeted 6 points against each. Both of those games still look really winnable when you look at our squad. Losing at home to a fellow promotion side obviously isn’t good.

They have Villa at home next weekend too. Winnable unless Villa get their act together. Frank Lampard’s Coventry? Man C away. Good luck with that FLC.

Well done Hull.

Sunderland got themselves into a great position based on their defence and sneak wins on the odd goal, Hull as yet haven't conceded a goal. Not saying they will do a Sunderland but again to keep 2 clean sheets in your first 2 PL games is another great stat for them.

Sunderland finished seventh despite the overall xG table placing them 18th. For it to happen two seasons in a row, and for Hull two seasons in a row too, it would certainly be something.

Wonder how long it will be before they are wanting Frank out, like they did at the end of last year after a few poor results

Tho it is equally possible for both Hull and ourselves to finish above three (or more) other teams. Same as Sunderland and Leeds did last season.

That is a devastating loss for Cov. That's an early version of our Soton game two years ago.

Fair play Hull. I've never known a team to outperform XG quite like it.

I think its really good for us. Its much better for us for Hull to max out and take points off Cov because i dont see them maintaining it and will likely drop off a cliff points wise. All credit to them for the start and would love them to stay up as long as we finish above!
