I agree. Second half was probably worse than much of what we saw with the maligned “League One” lads in 24/25. It’s going to be a long season I fear, especially if we have the mentality we’ve shown here, we look like we’re in awe of the occasion again. |  |

Agreed no one to hold the ball up. Equally we are too slow moving the ball around and very disjointed in terms of structure.
Loosing Emersonn really really hurt us! Allowed Man U defence to push up unafraid.

The ManU players are a step up from Sunderland that's for sure, and yes, Liverpool (perhaps), Arsenal and Chelsea a step up again.
But I don't think any of us expect to win against those teams, it's just essential we beat the teams who will be around us. |  |

They were all over us from the moment they equalised. They would have won - maybe not by scoring five, but they would have won.
The concern is we lost our head and failed to do the basics. We regrouped well last week after the equaliser - albeit it's easier to do at home - but this week we collapsed. | |

Little naive in hindsight to go there and take them on like that. Even in the 1st half, they had so much space in the middle and Nunez was chasing shadows bless him. We had more of the ball though so it was a little less damaging.
Entertaining though to swing at them a bit for an hour, but I thought we would be a little more pragmatic than that. 33 shots against, an absolute humping really. Albeit a touch of misfortune about a couple of the goals.
Nothing was lost today though. Not a game that’ll dictate our season by any stretch. |  | | |
