| New day new start 07:50 - Aug 31 with 1175 views | WolfieAtTheBack | Right then, after the game of two halves yesterday the most pressing issue now is to get a striker in before the window closes tomorrow Tuesday at 11-00 pm BST. I think this is the most important transfer window to date, if we do not get a striker in the building I think we will really really struggle to stay competitive up to January. What is everyone's take on it, is it sh!t or bust right now to get in a striker? | | | | |

| New day new start on 08:10 - Aug 31 with 1069 views | TownieRob | I think yesterday showed how short we in terms of squad depth. We have a competitive 11. The fall off from that 11 is unfortuantely what may cost us come what May if we do not add before the window closes. | | | |

It was evident when Emmerson went off the whole picture of the game changed. Hopefully today there is some good news and he will be available for the Palace game and fully fit.

The same tbh can be said for RW, the full off once Fatawu gets tired is painful with no decent option to take over. 4 months of shopping to only bring in a young potential striker ( who i love ) wouldn't be good enough again.

It's really tough, I also don't know why we don't have a starting right back in, DOS i feel should always start at CB and lead the team from there with Greaves dropping to the bench. It's a bit like buying a new car but forgetting to put fuel in it to get it going,

I doubt Akpom will be the starting striker if Emersonn is out and we dont bring another striker in. Far more likely that either Enciso or Maeda start up front. But agree, a striker is imperative.

Enciso or Maeda are too small for that role IMO, they are like 5 foot 7. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| New day new start on 09:48 - Aug 31 with 634 views | SomethingBlue | Yes, let's be honest here – we are in desperate need of a striker, two of them if Emersonn's injury is remotely bad. While I know Akpom scored yesterday and I've seen people saying Emersonn did nothing, I'd contend Emersonn got around the pitch and occupied the centre-halves in a way Chuba simply cannot. One long throw-out by Scherpen early in the second half stays with me – he got it to halfway and Emersonn would have taken that on his chest; instead Akpom is monstered by Maguire or whoever and United are piling into us yet again. If Abraham is really what we think we need then hopefully that gets done. [Post edited 31 Aug 9:49]

Completely agree, Emersonn occupied Maguire and was a threat in behind as well. The space was there for other players to exploit. You sound unconvinced about Abraham?
| New day new start on 10:19 - Aug 31 with 512 views | Leaky | Well we have played 2 games & scored 4 goals. Coventry have played 2 no goals. having played similar levels of opposition | | | |
| New day new start on 11:06 - Aug 31 with 431 views | Guthrum | We absolutely need another centre-forward. However, at the same time we have scored two goals in both games, which will always be enough to make us competitive. | |
