It's hilarious. We were the much better team for the first half until the Nunez slip.
Man United have always had it in them to turbo charge up in games. We just got caught by them going from second to fifth gear. Add in some dodgy referee decisions and deflections.
I do think we lost control and discipline on the pitch after their second went in though. But again, newly put together squad, new manager, second premier league game at Old Trafford.

I wouldn’t say we were the much better side 1st half. They had 60% possession and 11 shots at goal, at best it was quite even and 1-1 probably about right.
2nd goal was a joke though and killed us. If that’s disallowed and we could get through another 10 minutes it’s a different game IMO, almost certainly a different scoreline and entirely different narrative.
Need to move on from it and take the lessons. We’ve made some good signings but there are levels, we’re not going to bridge a gap to United with signings like Lukic & Diop, Nunez & Greaves etc. And not do we expect or aspire to. It won’t define our season, it’s the Everton, Palace games I’m interested in, they’ll be a decent yardstick. |  | | |

Hopefully the side will learn from it cos this sort of scenario is likely to pan out frequently this season, and how we cope with it is likely to define our season. We certainly werent outplayed in the first half but discovered that fine margins make a huge difference in this league
I expect a similar performance to the first half on Friday and hope we can apply it to the whole 90 minutes. Liverpool are, if not there for the taking, certainly wobbly at the moment and we have threats in attack that can take the game to them. | |

We were unlucky but we would still very likely have been beaten. They just stepped things up. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Look at their front four. In a sensible world the fans would have come away feeling very positive about this season.

I don't like the rule at all, but the ref applied it.

Secondly both Utd goals were fortunate and that's a very mild assessment.
But that inly put the game at 2-1 in their favour, so what happened with regards to their other three goals.
We disappeared in the second half, so either it was Utd being totally amazing, which it wasn't or us in most departments going AWOL.
Put into perspective they have a team many millions worth more than us. So they should be better.
As for us I think the early lead lead to us being a bit gung ho and whilst we had chances to stretch the lead Utd were never going to be so bad in the second half and we were never going to be so good. | | | |

Nunez should not be blamed for a slip but he was one of two players left deeper to defend against any breaks. He was part of the cover. Once it was two against one we were in a lot of trouble. | | | |

Bryan Mbeumo missed from 18 inches too. I dont think think the injustice was that huge. We were under siege and relented via a dodgy decision.

The dodgy refereeing decisions will more than likely happen every time we play a big gun this season, so we have to be so much better than them which is unlikely, but I loved our competitiveness at united, look more assured this time around, |  | | |
