Loaded in attack!! 3-4 left out each week. on 23:46 - Sep 1 with 1796 viewsunstableblue

A lot of our attacking mids can play wide or 10. But not sure they’re that interchangeable on wings.

Right attacking mids:
Fatawu
McAteer

Number 10:
Enciso, Egeli, Mehmeti

Left attacking mids:
Maeda, Clarke, Philogene

Forward:
Flemming, Emersonn, Akpom

Going to be 3-4 of these not even making matchday squad. But it’s a long season, form will change, and we’ll switch starters.

Some quality and depth now.

All in all, an excellent window really. Certainly better than the one I envisaged in May. If I was going to raise concerns, it is the defensive cover/upgrades but at least they have a better midfield in front of them.

Hopefully, we can add in that area in Jan as well as moving one or two on.

Now he's staying, I'm wondering if Palmer will take Walton's place on the bench. I assumed, maybe unfairly, Walton was the sub against Sunderland and Manchester United, and played against Leicester, because we assumed Palmer was going.

Outarra will likely cover left as Palacios can also cover RB if really desperate.

Also given how fluid modern systems are often a CB will be up much higher than Azor or Floretino at deep CDM. Núñez has also showed he is capable of a QB role.

If we seriously have 4 defenders injured before January then that is just unavoidable misfortune and bad luck. Otherwise there is depth.

I may be hallucinating but did Jack Taylor once move to left back in a game?

Ouatarra can definitely cover both full backs, as can Furlong.

OShea can play right back, and is currently.

Greaves can play left back.

However, given how absolutely stacked in attacking wide players we are, it only feels like perhaps McAteer could play as a wing back??

It’s not ideal as both right footed but prefer to see O’Shea playing in the centre with Diop.

Christ if we end up with Taylor at LB there's a huge problem!

Obvious answer is Greaves and hopefully Outtara is RB unless Furlong can nail it down, sorry but I don't like DOS in that position and fear he's getting roasted Friday night.

If he does get roasted against £120m Bradley Barcola then it isn't going to be a surprise to me. He's an exceptional talent.

Any right back in the league is going to get roasted by Barcola, and it’s a huge test for OShea.

But we’ve got to double up on him with the Fatawu or Ouatarra. Then later McAteer.

And ensure if they are beaten the striker are well marshalled.

I do think Lukic and Palacios will have to drop deep to protect Diop. Who’s been struggling a bit with his mobility - he can turned.
