| Bands/artists you've seen the most 13:56 - Sep 25 with 4738 views | Whos_blue | Inspired by some of the comments in Wally's Oasis thread, I thought it would pass some time to look at the bands the TWTD massive have seen the most. Maybe go for a top 3? For me it's Paul Weller at the top with 40+ gigs since 92. Sadly never saw The Jam or Style Council. 2nd is The Who 30+ times, though only since 89, so sadly no Keith Moon era gigs. Not sure about third. Possibly Cast or maybe even The Bootleg Beatles! I guess we should also include if we ever saw Oasis, so for me that is 4 times, but all back in the day. | |

I used to follow the Birthday Party and early Bad Seeds around the country. Nick Cave used to put me on the guest list after a while. I didn't actually see him last time at the poxy O2. I went on line too late and could only get a ticket at the back for 180 quid and though chuff that. DJ wise, Sasha and Digweed individually or together so many times here and in Ibiza. Off to see Sasha play Sheffield Cathedral in early October. Last but not least, the legend, in my house and Leeds, Ralph Lawson. Top DJ and wonderful bloke.

Saw them everywhere, but only a few times after they went ‘commercial’ (soft) and drummer John Coghlan left. Their mid/late 70s gigs in crumbling theatres to goodness knows where were something else. Most of the rest i only saw once, not that I’ve seen many by comparison to a lot of people on here. Love to have seen Rolling Stones and David Bowie, but never did. Oh well

That would have been me. My Town away top got more positive comments than my Dukla Prague one ever has.

The crossover between HMHB & ITFC is bigger than you’d imagine. That’s about 5 or 6 of us on here now joining the mighty Chris Rand (he of the lyrics project website)

| Bands/artists you've seen the most on 14:50 - Sep 25 by ellaandred | As I posted on the other thread Steve Harley about 60 David Bowie 22 And in the seventies I saw John Miles loads of times. |
I saw Cockney rebel twice on their first tour. Cromer Links Pavillion where they were supported by Bebop Deluxe and then again at the end of the tour at Norwich Theatre Royal. Then I saw Steve Harley at a venue in Norwich about five years ago. Couldn't say who Ive seen the most. I certainly don't get anywhere near those double figure numbers with any band/artist. Rory Gallagher 4 or 5 times Steely Dan three times. Peter Gabriel 3 times. David Crosby twice.

| Bands/artists you've seen the most on 21:11 - Sep 25 by LevelTheLand | Levellers - probably 40 times New Model Army - 10 times (ish) Stranglers/Motorhead/Terrorvision/Reverend & the Makers/Dreadzone/Waterboys/Dub Pistols/The Selecter are all going to be fairly equal, wouldn't like to say who I've seen the most. Honourable mention for East Town Pirates. |
Seen New Model Army loads of time. Them plus the Levellers. It was good to see NWA at the John Peel in Stowmarket last month - they are still superb, and it is somewhat depressing most of their songs like 51st State still resonate today. Chadwick always play Weird and Wonderful Wood for an afternoon cyder infused sing-along.

They played the Empire Pool (now arena) in 75 (with Moon) and the stadium in 79, one of the first gigs to feature new drummer and ex (Small) Face Kenney Jones. I'm sorry. It's not you, it's me! |
I saw them at Wembley Pool in 75. Then in 81, 20014 and 19 (which was very disappointing)

Saw New Model Army at Beautiful Days a couple of years ago ago… they are seriously loud, with as passionate fan base as I’ve seen. There’s no half measures with those guys.

| Bands/artists you've seen the most on 14:33 - Sep 26 with 528 views | Freddies_Ears | It helps being a bit old... there is some estimating going on here, but roughly: 1 Barclay James Harvest, incl the John Lees continuity branch, roughly 40 times. 2 Big Big Train, my fave currently-touring prog band, approx 32 times, but 37 in 10 days' time as they are helpfully on tour during the international break. 3 Probably local folk duo Honey & the Bear, around 25 times. If livestreams are included, they jump to number 1 spot with a total of around 85! 4 Katherine Priddy (folk, ish) around 20 times. Many, many others 10x or more... | | | |

He’d be one of my main hindsight gigs if I could go back. I wasn’t fussed at the time; it took a while to appreciate his genius. Mostly around then I was bouncing around metal bands, so the likes of Maiden and AC/DC would be my most regular. I’m not a massive gig goer though, so only a few times each.

I neglected "local" bands when compiling my list. I've seen Honey & the Bear loads of times too, mostly in the Stanford Arms and in The Slounge, Lowestoft. Also The Fools Moon, Little Red Kings, Pangaea/David Ingham Group and many many more.
