Just said exactly the same to my son. A sport that seems to constantly kick itself in the proverbials through its rules.

I appreciate that it's not the 1970s any more, and we need greater safety in the sport. But it feels as if the FIA have gone to the other extreme when it comes to their attitude to rain.

Even the experts seem to struggle, with the outcomes constantly contradicting the rules they’re quoting (incessantly at us!). I don’t pity them!

Rain wasn’t the issue by then, it was software updates pushed out by the FIA which caused the problem in a number of cars.

F1 is sh1t. Don't waste your time and energy on it.

Have never been able to see why people seem to like watching it.

Also it must contribute a material amount to fossil fuel consumption and hence global warming.

It doesn't get any better. Finding out today that the FIA can actually control the software the cars use at times just blew my mind.
