| Town 2nd in the 'real' table 10:22 - Oct 12 with 2267 views | VanDusen | I asked Chat GPT to give me a Premier League table excluding all results of the self-styled 'Big Six' who have the massive protections of FFP to create their glass ceiling, obvs. And we are second behind Brighton - which, even at this early stage is absolutely amazing! Well done Town. | | | | |

Therefore the actual table is the *real* “real” table …

Really? Are you bothering to pay £30 + hundreds in train fares to travel to another pointless shafting this Saturday? Cos I'm not I'm boycotting all the games against those six clubs as there's no point playing them anymore - they're global brands not community assets. They don't exist to me.

Yes - rather like playing in the premier league for anyone who remembers how competitive English football was before a handful of big clubs strongarmed the breakaway in '92 and are now complaining that Man City's doing to them exactly what was done to the other 80-odd clubs (including us) back then...

It was worth the trip two years ago for Szmods to score on 4 minutes. It's always worth seeing the Ipswich, though your priorities appear to be who the opposition is

We were part of that breakaway group in 1992.

I've been going home and away for 40 odd years. But I feel somewhat aggrieved that I have to apparently be delighted and excited to see them singularly thrashed every few weeks for the benefit of "fans" in Asia, America and Africa. All whilst the rules make it perfectly ok for 4 or 5 teams to spend what they like to monopolise the Super League places and further entrench their already grossly disproportionate income - whilst even if I had Elon Musk style wealth I'd never be allowed to spend it on us to compete at the same level. It's patronising, painful and yes, I do resent paying more money to watch such travesties against certain teams now who have nothing in common with our fanbase or our values. What it is NOT anymore is sport - it's simply capitalism designed to sell stuff to people.

We would have voted for it, because English football was on its ar2e, just look at our gates around that time, even in the top flight. While I hate the Premier League and modern football, we probably did have the best of both worlds between 94-03 in terms of it being commercial enough to be better than it was, but still football and not just "content" as it is now.

Precisely. We all know it was a small handful of clubs who wanted to keep TV money for themselves and colluded with the FA to make it happen. Just a decade after they managed to stop having to share their gate receipts.

I would, yes, if I were physically able to - because I support our club, team, players and coaches, loved going to games, watching us play, meeting up with friends, enjoying the atmos (including smelling the hotdogs, onions & ketchup) & saved on other things like holidays to afford it. And live in the real world. I'd be there like a shot if I could. Edit - oh, and we might not "get shafted", might even get a point or ... [Post edited 12 Oct 19:19]

Would you mind DMing me, so we could discuss an arrangement where I could have your tickets to the matches against the Big 6. Ta.
