He was right in June and he is righter now. Fulham’s list in the summer had him near the top and he walked away from it. Taking it after Arbeloa has already had the difficult start is the version where you inherit the pressure without the clean sheet. Compensation, the style the board want, and a squad that has just lost at Portman Road are the three reasons it looks worse in October than it did in June. The “Fulham Frank discussion” joke only works if he is still available and still interested. He said he was not. The job that looks mad from outside is usually the one the available managers have already turned down for a reason.
