See its dress as an empty seat night at Burnley tonight. 20:37 - Oct 16 with 1156 viewsIllinoisblue

And Sheff Utd only took around 300 to Pompey in the week. Just a reflection of those two clubs’ struggles, or the start of a correction in what has been mostly booming attendances everywhere?

I think I am right in saying this has been a fixture at all 4 pro levels in the last 40 years.

Burnley could have been 3 up before that Wolves equaliser. Pretty underwhelmed by both sides here.

It’s a tricky one .. currently this season’s championship average attendance is the 2nd highest in its existence.. obviously boosted this time by West Ham.
But generally remains above la liga and serie A…. Individual clubs always have individual issues though.

I was at the match when they came down to Swansea. They're not a supportive bunch at all. Very few bothered to come down even for a 3pm Saturday kickoff and then there was a load of middle fingers and abuse, etc., aimed at their players afterwards. Burnley were sh*t, but still. They've got a bit too big for their boots I suspect.

Massive money issues and now a full year without a home win. Lee Gwan is calling…

“Interestingly” I was years old when yesterday I discovered Utah is the state with the largest British gentíc imprint very much down to the Mormon “invasion” of the state after a hugely successful missionary led recruitment drive in the UK in the 1800’s
Utah Is an outlier to the majority of the top 10 which of course contains many Atlantic coastal states.

The Mormons were kicked out of Missouri or bumped off in the east 1800s under that State’s Mormon Extermination Order. They finally arrived in Utah via Illinois, their main leader being Brigham Young. He founded Salt Lake City.

The British genetic imprint is about 36% according to the internet. Scandinavians then Germans making up the next biggest percentages thanks to 19c migrations.

I’ve been to Utah a number of times. Salt Lake City lies in the shadow of the Wasach Mountains and is nice. Not too far from there in the mountains is Park City and the best ski areas on earth in my view - my reason for going.

Strange mob, the Mormons. When I first went in the early 2000s there were no bars or pubs. Illegal. You could get alcohol with food but that was your lot. But it wasn’t. You could join a ‘club’. For a few dollars you could join for 3 months or whatever. You signed in a little book, were taken up a dingy flight of stairs, and into a bar as we know it. You had to sign in every time you went in.

It even got raided once when I was there and names were checked to the register. Great fun. The rules over the years relaxed though and that fun stuff fell away. I think the desire for tourist dollars was too strong.

I liked Utah. Bit odd, but Park City and the ski areas are brilliant.
