Did brilliantly to stay in the game. Just did next to nothin in 12 minutes of stoppage time, not helped by some really poor work by the linesman but our final ball was awful.

On the whole a pretty good performance. I would have had Flemming on much earlier, Emersson was having no joy up there. Akpom did well when he came on.

Could have easily been a point.

Don’t be flat mate, so much to feel good about from that which we can take into the rest of the season.

Don't be too flat. That still shows how far we've come compared to last time.

You are flat after we pushed the league leaders all the way?

Weird.

I know exactly what you mean but no team has taken a point off them so far this season and it was a good show from us. We have got 3 wins under our belts so aren't relying on getting points from games like today's. Enjoy the fact we are still top half of the table and have easier matches to come and have a squad good enough to make them have to work for their win.

Of course, but respectfully that was a low bar.

I don't love this writing off of these games. City are obviously City but they left 4 regulars on their bench, and looked vulnerable in certain areas. They always give you space.

Having said that, it's not like we had a glut of chances and didn't take them. It was a great effort to stay in the game, just a shame we didn't put more pressure on at the end. Fatawu's deep crossing needs some work.

Going in to today, I was just hoping for a score that wouldn't have called for the old school vidiprinter typing out the score in brackets.

I do get you though but that is also a good sign of where we could be to feel a twinge of disappointment to lose by the odd goal in 5 at Etihad.

Now if we lose next Friday, I will feel flat. Feels a big one.

I'm at risk of getting too defensive here and coming across as negative, which I'm not. But I kind of expect us to push them all the way, don't you? Otherwise why turn up? O'Neil said he expected us to go there and win.

I agree with you over feeling a bit flat. We finished with 0 points.

You don't have to justify that to anyone. If they are delighted with it, that's fine too.

Overall I am very happy with where we are as a club and that was far from an unexpected result.

Can I ask though what is it people like about flemming so far this season. I was excited about him joining, but i can't see how he starting or coming on earlier would help us, I don't really feel i see much from him when he comes on.

Genuine question as i'd like to watch out for it next week. Perhaps it's something not shown on screen?

Flat? Three wins from six and then losing by one goal to City?

I'm really bullish on our chances of staying up. In isolation, a loss is always disappointing but as part of the bigger picture this is another big positive.

Personally, I'm elated after that. The value of that overall performance on belief and confidence for the next couple of months at least, is immense.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Two words: growth, perspective. 2 years ago we were utterly outplayed and outclassed on the FIRST away game of the season, by Man City.

Fast forward two years, and we contain a team with a 100% win rate in the league by mid October, in the first half, despite 20% possession, and could have nicked a point.

I actually think that's a big reason to feel happy after today. Name me one person who thought this game was winnable, let alone getting a point?

Yes, we lost, but we are now competitive.

You're having a laugh! Phenomenal result especially considering the ref gave us nothing (for once thank you VAR!)

It honestly feels like a win for me, Maresca looked a very worried man at the end. Not many teams will do that at the Etihad this season.

If we play like that every game from now we stay up at a canter. We should be proud of the performance.

I hear you, but that was an excellent 2nd half display against one the of the best club sides in the world right now. Others have faired far worse. Personally I thought be pushed really hard in the 12 mons and I was so proud of the team at the end.

First half we were properly under the cosh, but held our shape well and didn't cave after we conceded either goal. That showed character.

2nd half we went toe to toe with them, with some super slick passing and really good ball control. I genuinely thought that we looked like we belong in the Prem. I didn't ever feel like that 2 years ago!

Wow. Some weird takes here.

Firstly - It could have easily been a draw.............Probably as easily as it could have been 5 or 6 for City.

Did nothing in the last 12 mins.........Man City were camped in their area for most of it.

The linesman giving those offside was ridiculous. If he flags the game has to stop.
