He's one of those people I'm completely unable to sort my feelings out on, they range from admiration to sympathy to disgust at various times. He's a fascinating figure

I used to love watching him fight. It was really interesting seeing him coming up through the ranks so to speak. I never realised he had a Daughter that died poor little girl. Watch it when you can it’s interesting.

Memorable moment was meeting someone from Ipswich working in a leather shop in a mall nearby. Came home and posted them a load of stuff from the club shop as this was pre-internet days.

Yes you're right there, he was knocking people over and ready to go again. I remember there being a glossy sports magazine at the time, no sports, which I liked and read, there was a really good article in there with his background and how he grew up, pigeons etc. I think after a while he'd beaten a few people before he even stepped into the ring, had that brutal reputation.

Absolutely brutal fighter. I dont like comparing eras but hes certainly amongst the best of all time. Badly advised, badly managed and taken advantage of, none of which excuses some of the things he done. Has found something of a redemption ark in the media. What a brawler though. Never stopped moving, constant bob weave duck, always looking to get forward, throw punches and never afraid of a slugfest. As a boxer, I love him, dynamite until the lifestyle got hold of him. As a person, as others have said, rather more conflicted feelings. As a boxing fan, was the doc decent?

Decent but sad in places. It was nice to see him crawl out of the gutter to live a happy time with his trainer who he obviously loved.

Thanks to the sports washing in the Middle East we were robbed a of a massive Fabio weekend in Vegas. I remember staying up late as a kid to watch Bruno Tyson but think that was 90s so must have been a rematch!

Tyson has good soundbites these days, on the facebook and youtube. Asked what he would be career wise if he didn't make it as a boxer, he says, a criminal, and hes deadly serious. When talking about Gus his coach Constantine "Cus" D’Amato he is very emotional. Gus an old white guy also stated at the time that Tyson was his reason for living, his greatest work. The old white guy being the father figure Tyson never had, taught him discipline. Then became his legal guardian. Tyson also has the humility to say ALi was the greatest.

Loved watching "Iron" Mike Tyson mid 80s raw ferocity & power, as mentioned by another poster his reputation earned him a huge psychological advantage

89 ad 96. He did so much better in the first fight and we really thought he could go on and win. He lived closed to my grand parents in Emerson Park, his wife was a lovely lady.
