That’s not a slight on Walton, either, he deserves his chance. But let’s not pretend the deal with goalkeeper.com has been anything other than a failure. |
Did Slicker come through the goalkeeper.com connection as well?

It's more of a rivalry than an obsession. They are our current peers, much like Plymouth and Wednesday a few years ago. Leicester, Southampton and Leeds in KMK's first Champ promotion season. Leicester and Southampton in our last Prem season, and Cov, Boro, Millwall and Southamton were last season. It's natural to compare ourselves to them, revel in their pain, and wince when they have success. Like much of those rivalries have gone by the wayside now, the one with Cov will before too long, unless we end up sharing survival, or relegation at the end of this season.

I can understand why they spent so much on him because he was such a big part of them getting promoted. They are now learning how tough the Premier League is and how much any weakness is exposed. He is having so much more to do. He isn't the only Premier League keeper to be making mistakes either. Those gunning for Scherpen and Walton should take note.

With a fair wind the obsession will end at the end of this season, with us avoiding relegation and them not, so we do not have to hear the constant love for him from his pundits
