Autumn Leif Stops Forest

T’was a game of rain and bluster.
Bursts of lustre came in clusters. 
Storm clouds crowded round the ground 
as Town found hard to muster:
chances.
A Leif dances. 
Foiled a Forest, a quick adjuster. 
Just in time to keep two off the line
like the slick flicks of a feather duster.  
Kicks and thrusts, Blues bruised,
the reds sped and led unflustered 
till Enciso grasped a backpass.
Palacios was and is still mustard.
Diop running hard through custard
stayed despite a waylaid lurch. 
Strayed, leapt into a weathered  
warning in this windswept church.
Perched in a backline kept the back, and crap, Delap from plunder.
Except for turning O’Shea’s shirt
into an off-the-shoulder number.
Thoughts drifted and fans wondered,  
wet with windy riding pillion,
how can a game have two flat balls,
and Delap cost 50 million?
