Hertha BSC have - with input from club members, fans, and staff - published set guidelines for future kit designs:

• Blue/white with clearly defined vertical stripes.
• A minimum of five stripes, each a minimum of 3cm wide
• A defined shade of blue, with a darker shade being permissible once every three seasons
• A defined colour palette from which trim colours and away/third colours may be drawn
• Rules regarding the colours used in the club badge

It also mandates that the current club crest must appear on each of the club's kits. It must be on the left-hand side of the chest on home shirts, and can be positioned centrally on one of either the away or third shirt.

The rules allow for exceptions for special edition kits, but only with the approval of fan representatives.

Certainly interesting in the context of the recent discussion about the future of the ITFC badge.

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

The ownership model being different in Germany certainly gives the fan base an element of power and sayso with their 50% +1 voting structure. I expect those that actually run the club are happy to delegate issues such as kit design to the fan group. Gives the fans a voice , improves the whole community feel.
