Apologies if this is a repeat post but wanted to flag that Maeda could miss a number of games across December - February due to the Asian cup.

Saturday 30 January Aston Villa vs Ipswich

Japan are also expected to hold a training camp 26th - 31st December which could see Maeda miss the Brentford (26th December) and Chelsea (30th December) fixtures.

That’s come round so quick (just checked the last edition was delayed.. Covid)
We lost Burgess and Baggott to it last time .. obviously Burgess was the issue.
I could have sworn they’d changed to the European summer.. but it’s the African champs that did.

Japan's first game isn't until 11th so imagine we ensure he skips the training camp and perhaps keep hold of him for Arsenal too. Bit of a blow but we are of course well stocked on the flanks and have known about this for a long time.

Seems very unfortunate that we had to twiddle our thumbs for weeks to allow the red sea to part for the latest round of international friendlies to be played, and then Maeda might miss 6 league games out of a 38 game season for an international tournament?

Wouldn't be quite so bad if any of our back up RWs were trusted to set foot on the pitch.
