| Sir bobbys memory is alive and well here in Porto 08:40 - Oct 30 with 1742 views | Mullet | My waiter was very excited by my ITFC shirt and at the end of the meal we had a little chat. He was clearly too young to remember SBR at Porto (like me and Ipswich) but spoke about how the great man was “in his heart” and how pleased he was to see clubs like us back in the Prem. On a side note, the streets here and in braga are covered in stickers from other clubs and ultras groups. Something you see a bit of around the grounds in Manchester, but here it’s far more pronounced and all over the place. Quite cool trying to work out which clubs a group belongs to when the sticker doesn’t make it explicit. | |

I fly back in a bit for the hull game. Did two days in the douro and two days here earlier. It’s a lovely place and country isn’t it? Felt guilty I didn’t know as much about it/its history as I feel I should, compared to other places.

Pity you didn’t get in a “Porto” game with a 1st team Town shirt on, I’m sure it would get spotted & the right colours for a home game.

I saw a tiny bit of benfica ( who I saw against Torino many years ago) vs Santa Clara in a restaurant but timings just didn’t work out. I mostly saw German, Dutch and Scandinavian teams snickering posts etc too. Just checked how much a shirt is and at £€135 a pop in staggered anyone affords them out here!

That shirt price is a tad steep, Maritimo ones are around 80€ from memory, we get a 50% discount in a voucher format for a birthday treat, but mines in May & pointless as it’d be the last season shirt before I got to wear it, & they get very little stock / sizes. Enjoy Portugal.
