Completely bonkers. Wheeling out the entitled sign for the 4th season in a row now.
| There's simply no pleasing some people on 22:35 - Oct 31 with 744 views | DJR | Just back home in Kent, and I have to admit how depressing TWTD seems to be becoming after games recently. It certainly doesn't help pass the time on the long journey back. Anybody would have thought we'd lost and were rooted to the bottom of the division. As it is, I left the ground feeling positive, not least because we could easily have got nothing out of the game but ended up scoring the last goal which is becoming a bit of a thing, and shows just how resilient we are. | | | |

You've made good time! Just on train back to Ippy from Liverpool Street now. At last a voice of sanity! We played really well. As you say, could easily have let the mistakes throw us but we kept battling and playing and showed grit and flair. It's frustrating not to win but this is the PL. These teams all have good players. So far so good. Now we need to hold our nerve in November.

We gifted them two goals. The didn't get a draw because they have good players.

Not sure what makes that different? He had a whole half of a pitch to float the ball into. Yoi may notice SW is being rather kind with his description of the goal. A proper description would be Davis and Philogene sit inside Hulls half. Palacios doesnt track Iroegbunam and Mcburnie floats the ball into the massive gap available. Then oshea floats about pondering whether to defend or not defend and chose the latter.

And are on course to concede the best part of 80 goals. No team stays up with an average of letting in 2 PG over the course of a season. Well I doubt they do! Was lovely to watch us first half looked like a top 6 outfit at times when we had that much of the ball but there are clearly problems with game management, defending and control. The first goal came from players that have played a lot of championship football, naive unfortunately.

Think their first is prime example of our lack of game management LB and Lw inside their half. Our CB chases striker into their own half to. 1-0. Just move up the pitch in a 4 5 1 dont force the issue Get 3 points if you win 1-0. 3 points if you win 2-0. So be sensible first.

Not at 1-0 up away from home FFS. He might naturally play high but he has to be smarter there.

Leif wasn't the one at fault. It was a situation that was entirely defendable. Inexplicably, O'Shea actually moved away from the attacker with the ball striding into the box and bearing down on goal.

Looking at our fixtures between now and January, my prediction is we will be right in amongst it probably just above the bottom 3 and will have to make a couple of key moves defensively and likely in the GK department. Still think we have a tone of talent that will see us through though, if we just sure up, even a little bit. Palacios and Enciso fitness will be key! [Post edited 1 Nov 4:52]

I think we have a better chance of staying up this time round, but it’s going to be tight. Hulls first goal was a shocker wtf were they thinking,so much space and time it was unreal.

We are on 15 points after beat Chelsea a few years ago, we had 2 December wins that got us there. I’m hoping it will be at least 6-7 points more this new years.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be extremely disappointed that we threw an away a golden opportunity to get three points against an expected relegation rival and fellow promoted team. To dominate a half the way we did only to concede two awful goals and find ourselves behind was so frustrating. There won’t be many games this season where an opponent concedes the amount of possession that Hull did. In fact I’d go as far as to say we will not have higher possession stats between now and May. We had a real chance to put some space between us and the bottom three. There is a reason that we have conceded more goals than any other side outside of the bottom three. Too many defensive mistakes and a goalkeeper who with the best will in the world is top level Championship at best. Most of us are extremely happy with the quality of players in most positions of the squad, the positive start to the season and the spirit in the club. But it’s not sustainable to concede an average of two goals a game for the rest of the season and expect to come out on the right side of results. TWTD seems to be the logical place to voice those frustrations.

Sadly as good as it has been and tbh its been so much better this time around, the reality is by the end of the month we are going to be right down there in the mix unless we can pull off some unlikely wins against the form teams. 17th for me is still what I regard success but we have to get better defensively as someone above said conceding 80 goals will almost certainly end up in relegation.

We definitely gifted them two goals, we definitely should have won that game, just like Forest were saying about last weeks game. Frustrating to have two points when we’d have had one more from both games going the way they should have gone, but that’s football, at any level tbf, but especially in the PL We are unlikely to play much better than that first half, but let’s not pretend Hull aren’t a capable team at their place, they’re undefeated at home and before yesterday’s game had only conceded 3 goals, and that playing United, Villa, Everton and Brentford, all established PL teams.

Emersonn has been okay, but that chance before the equalizer was truly poor, trying a feint of stepover rather than setting his weight and balance for a shot was not clever. I don't think he makes the starting list for any othe Premier side at our level.

Despite having to leave the ground in the opposite direction, I managed to catch my train to Doncaster at 17.40, and additionally got an earlier train home from London Bridge than the one my advance ticket was valid for. As it is, I'm looking forward to Tottenham away as it will mean, despite the queues for the tube, that I should get home before 8pm which is the norm for home games for me.
