But remember we still have Inter Milan & the San Siro to go... ;)

There was a combination of friendly locals and high-jinx among Town fans, flush with the novelty of the first relatively close European trip for nearly 20 years. Our ranks were boosted by local Scandi Ipswich fans. Made it a truly special occasion.

We stayed in Copenhagen. Got a VHS at my parents house of the trip that dad camcordered, got Marcus Stewart's majestic chip on video. Should probably find it and see if I can get it digitised and on YouTube at some point.

Wasn't lucky enough to make any away games but saw Inter at home, always said if the net wasn't on the goal for Armstrong's header I would have caught the ball. Coverage on BBC as well. Lineker, Lawro and Hansen, Motson (and Barry Davies I think) commentating. Class.

| Helsingborgs IF on 13:17 - Nov 2 with 568 views | mutters | Was that the bar that Sheepshanks came to? Remember a bar being rammed full of Town fans, not sure if that was Harrys. Also remember the pronunciations of the town players on the tannoy. Mark Weenez was a family favourite for a while. Cracking away trip, the only time I've seen town away playing in an European competition. Those Were The Days.... | |

It was definitely Harry's bar. I've got a picture of Sheepy on people's shoulders. The staff in there were brilliant too, taking multiple orders simultaneously in their second language and keeping everyone hydrated. All with a smile on their faces too. Came back to Ipswich and waited about 10 mins to get served in a not very busy pub. My favourite of my Europe trips that season and the next.

Loved that goal. Yes I know that Armstrong was on the edge of the six yard box when he made the header but in my telling over the years he has moved further and further back. Pretty sure I told someone he scored from the edge of the penalty area.
