I'm seeing this on a smaller scale in my garden too, with an apple tree in blossom in November.

I know some find it fun to downplay the extreme weather, or tell us to enjoy a bbq and a beer, but this sort of thing is really concerning.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Just in from work. Put the pruning jobs on hold until December in the garden I was working on today as too much sap still rising so cut grass and planted bulbs, still had time to cut another client’s lawn on the way back.
In years gone by, I would have had bare rooted hedges and trees to plant from the first week of November and generally had a fair bit booked in. Got two very small ones lined up and won’t be doing those until early next year. Bonkers for our indigenous plants and not really sure how much they will be able to cope with the way our climate is changing.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

We already are finding out unfortunately. Several fairly established shrubs are showing signs of stress or are looking likely to not survive. Lost a lovely big Viburnum tinus this summer which started showing similar symptoms last year. Fingers crossed it doesn’t impact as much as I think it will 🤞
