I would not be surprised, looks ready to score 15-20 plus if he stays fit

The great thing is he doesn’t need to, Murphy with 27, Sears next with 9.
Be good if he can add a few more goals this season though.

And that’s the million dollar question. I hope he can stay fit and has a great season. Playing less last year may have helped him on the long run if it’s given his body time to heal. Not that his injury record is horrendous, but a long run from him this season would be good.

I believe he has a lot of goals in him but being fit for 30 plus games would be beneficial and contributing 15 goals would be nice! We need a really highly functioning attack for all the different opposition this year. I don’t really mind where goals come from.

Hirst 15 and the other 85 spread throughout the team.

I have said, I think on here, but at the very least to any friends or family that put up with my ramblings, that I feel that Hirst is an underrated player. If we can actually get something close to a full season out of him, he will comfortably get around 20 goals.

I agree, but also it’s the space he creates drawing defenders out of position for the goals from the wing or midfield that really help also,

I don't think Hirst is fragile and Injury prone. More like unlucky with injuries. The type of things that could happen to any player have happened to him a couple of seasons on the bounce.

I don't think he'll ever be particularly prolific with his style of play, but as you say, his value is in the benefit he brings to the 3 behind him.

I wonder if KM will try to encourage him to be more selfish this season with a view to stepping up, or whether he'll focus on his wider contribution with his back to goal. He will have learned an awful lot from Delap over the last year.

Very excited to see him stretch his legs against lesser defenders this season.

He will get north of 15 but won't be out top scorer,

It would be good. Depden Green Wanderers are hoping their star striker Nigel Havers will bag at least 25 goals this season. With Barbara Knox on one wing, and Ken Kitson on the other wing, I deem this to be a good possibility.

We're talking 2014/15 Murphy, yeah? Not sure if he's got it in him to be THAT prolific in the system we play but I can see him getting close to 20 if he stays fit. The others around him will also score plenty I expect.

I don't disagree, but the trick is can we get Szmodics, Clarke and Philogene (Omari will be gone) to do the same?
