| Sad new from Carrow Road on 19:54 - Jan 11 with 2658 views | Churchman | Oh dear. Nobody should go to a football match and not get home. Thoughts with his/her family. RIP. Some things are more important than football. [Post edited 11 Jan 19:56]

yes, remember the QPR game a couple of years ago? Half time there was a medical emergency in Churchmans. So difficult to deal with a crowded area that you cannot just evacuate. Rangers supporters had full view from their area even with the screens up. All felt very different after game restarted. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

https://www.canaries.co.uk/con Hope this link works once it's posted! Anyway, there was much coverage on Facebook about the death of this Canary (Jim Davies) at / just after the Cup match on Sunday. In particular, several heart warming condolences from Ipswich fans. In fact so much so that this was included in the NCFC statement today. Jim was a true Yellow and I walked to the Lion & Castle pub in The Barclay with him (not knowing it was him at the time) to the Supporters meeting on October 15th when the natives 'expressed displeasure' at the way in which the Club were trying to steamroller through their idea of 'stadium improvements'! Jim stood up at the meeting, asked his question and made an impassioned appeal. On receiving the usual 'Corporate / Management' type response, he got up and walked out. It was a momentous moment as by that time the natives were approaching full revolutionary mode! Little did anyone know that just three months later he would leave us after many decades loyal service. I don't pretend to be the voice of all Canary Fans but I would like to place on record my / our sincere thanks and appreciation for the respect Ipswich fans have shown. It is very much appreciated. | | | |
