But if he's out of contract come the end of the season then the ball must be in his court. Maybe we could offer 18 months with the "opportunity" of a year in the PL? Perhaps WH will only be offering short term until the end of the season.

If you were West Ham you would surely be making him honour his contract until the end of the season. He is a goal scorer. You are going to look bloody stupid if you go down struggling to score goals and he goes elsewhere and is banging them in. Case in point him getting the winner at the weekend.

There isn’t a sale price. They were going to rip his contract up but as mentioned it’s rumoured he’s on a pay as you play deal.

I thought he was contracted there for the rest of the season on a PAYP deal so they would have to come to an agreement to terminate that deal.

God knows how it works. There must be some sort of contract in place to keep him there until the end of the season I suppose but if it’s only pay as you play must be able to scrap it whenever.
