Now the dust has settled on the season can I finally ask... 15:35 - May 27 with 1118 viewsjasondozzell

Why have we had the floodlights on in recent seasons even during bright sunny days?! I'm pretty sure they were on during the QPR game!

Noticed this a while ago and have been wondering about it for an age. Can't be a PL requirement as it happened this season.

Why on earth are they needed when it's brilliant sunshine?!

I'm not able to offer an explanation for this, however I believe that Madge Hindle might possibly be able to assist.

Poll: Who would potentially have been a great Ipswich manager ?

I’m guessing here but maybe it’s to keep the light evenly spread across the pitch? Get rid of shadows? Possibly helps those watching it on telly?

Just guessing.

West Brom had theirs on against us. A Sky requirement?

It gives consistent light for the cameras. Not just on the pitch but crowd, bench, touch line etc.
