In future I shall keep a drizzle of balsamic with the first aid kit for such emergencies.

Olive focaccia with sprigs of rosemary from a farmers market.

Studded with maldon sea salt.

Did the choking incident also include smashed avocado?

I didn't know you could cool a kitchen down by cleaning it.

Make a great tombstone epithet, " Death By Sourdough ". Not as good as Spike Milligan's though. In Gaelic as they refused to do it in English, " I told you I was ill " !

I think it's important to be able to mock yourself for being a middle class cliché at times

A fatal allergic reaction when finding out the meal the neighbours cooked when they invited you round contained chicken from Asda.

A tip for all you kefir drinkers.

Don't buy it in M&S or Waitrose, buy it in the chilled Polish section of Asda.

It's only £1.12 a litre, at least a third cheaper than in those stores, and it's very good to boot.

I stumbled across it in Eastbourne but I am not sure all Asdas have a dedicated chilled Polish section.

Sorry, what is an ASDA?

Isn't that what those yobbos are issued with when they make a racket near the farmer's market?
