The list is pure speculation but there are some very underwhelming ones on there.
Has the EADT not suggested Philippe Clement as well? I would be surprised, given that list, if he wasn't in it!
Ultimately it is about the club getting the right one over the line. I suspect it will probably be someone not on that list. | |

A name I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere is Tommy Elphick - rejected Bristol City so clearly identified by some as a potential manager. Expected to join Iraola but still hasn’t happened yet.

I seem to recall that when Iraola went to Bournemouth from Rayo Vallecano he wanted to take his assistant with him but couldn't due to work permit issues.
Wonder where he is now?

And the answer to that is his name is Iñigo Pérez (someone suggested him the other day), he became Vallecano manager in February 2024, led them to the recent Europa Conference League final they lost to Palace and has just started as manager of Villareal. He replaced Marcelino GarcÃa Toral who got Villareal Champions League qualification two seasons running and is out of a job for now.

He became manager of Vallecano and then just got appointed manager of Villarreal. Interestingly the guy at Villarreal before him, Marcelino Toral, quit at the end of the season, with this apparently on his mind:

I am a little surprised Pert hasn't been suggested as an option too.

Bare in mind we must be deemed as a really good job. Salary potential of 5m + perks to manage a PL club cannot be sniffed at for a top level candidate. | | | |
