Why? He’s 34 and his legs aren’t what they used to be - hopefully being in that team will encourage some L1 teams to contact him.

I’m more shocked that Jonny Williams is still only 32.

Because even at 34 i didnt think hed need to play in this sort of free agent game to habe clubs wanting him.

That can’t be right. Jonny Williams looked 36 when he was with us!

I wonder if most clubs issue if that’s the right word.. sounds too negative…. Is that he’s such a captain type that it would mess up team spirit of their clubs and their own captaincy hierarchy situations.
Clearly even at 34 he’d still slip comfortably into a good championship team and below.
So I’m guessing it’s partly that and also financial on his side being his last contract.

Poll: Should Burns or Chaplin now replace the Shefki/Pablo TWTD question of yore ?

Why? Leaving sentiment aside, he wasn’t good at Bristol. The Saudi move was a bad one for him.

Wish him well of course.

Why?

The Saudi thing was a joke, and he did nothing special at Bristol. Plus the refusing to wear the rainbow armband will put a lot of clubs off, who consider themselves community clubs.

Fernando Forestieri. That's a blast from the past!

Unfortunately there's more to agreeing deals that clubs wanting him.

I'm sure trams do want him but he might not want to go there, or wants too much wages/they offer too little. Etc.

Has he been kept in Tupperware for 10 years and just been found in the back of the freezer?

I guess it depends on what his future plans are. It maybe he’s after a contract somewhere lowers down the leagues not just to play but to gain coaching experience. Who knows. I wish him well. He was brilliant for us. Certainly the best Captain since Matt Holland.

Sometimes players do decline quite rapidly, other times they go on and on.

As for Jonny Williams, I thought he looked a fabulous player when he came to us on loan. But sadly, he physically he’s clearly struggled.

I last saw playing for Charlton in League 1 in about 2021. He still had the skills, but the fitness clearly wasn’t there. Such a shame.

That was a very serious move, to a very serious club, by a very serious footballer.

As it should, rank bigotry hiding behind religion.

Not sure what I said to upset bluebud… generally thought I was being complimentary and honest .. and I’m not even an out and out fanboy of him either.

I’ll correct it for you - Sam Morsy is a homophobe.
