| New ITFC manager = poisoned chalice? 21:14 - Jun 19 with 751 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | I don't think I'd want to walk into ITFC as a manager with the amount of scrutiny the next manager will get. KMcK is the golden child, he's gone, and now some brave soul has to be confident enough that they can not only do a decent job, but also ingratiate themselves to a fan base, many of whom wouldn't be happy unless the reincarnation of Sir Bobby came back and managed us. I just hope whoever comes in gets a fair crack of the whip from the calm and collected majority. | |

I think any realistic appointment we can make will feel underwhelming after the rollercoaster ride of the last 4.5 years. We've been spoilt and this is going to be a big test of the mettle of both fans and manager, I think.

O'Neil for me is the pragmatic solution to keeping us in the league, he knows how to do that, and has proved it, where as OGS has not. With so many managers ruling themselves out, being unavailable owing to the World Cup, needing back surgery. Plus, us wanting Premier League experience AND needing someone appointed quickly we had a very small pool in which to fish. If it doesn't work out, we'll lose him at Christmas and go for Anthony Barry, I have no doubt.

Keane? Hirst? Cook? McKenna was met with some bewilderment, we knew very little about him. McCarthy, there was quite rightly concern about the playing style. Yet they are the 2 recent time managers that have performed the best in their circumstances. Appreciate McCarthy was pre gamechanger, but it’s more an observation re supporter trends. I just feel like he won't be given the same chance with the fans as Kieran did, and maybe that's fair, given the remit is different. However, it just feels a bit like a rebound relationship scenario. I genuinely hope he succeeds, but I fear fans will be very unforgiving if we have a bad start to the season.

Unfortunately some will always have biased views on candidates
| Farewell Kieran Mckenna, our best manager of the post Evans era so far. |
