CB - Terry Butcher (England -1982 & 1986)
CB - Tommy Smith (New Zealand - 2010)
LB - Jonas Knudsen (Denmark - 2018)

CM - John Wark (Scotland -1982)
CM - Matt Holland (Ireland - 2002)

AM -Bontcho Guentchev (Bulgaria - 1994)

LF - Alan Brazil (Scotland -1982)
CF - Paul Mariner (England - 1982)
RF - Ali Al-Hamadi (Iraq - 2026)

Subs
Amir Karic (Slovenia - 2002)
George Burley (Scotland - 1982)
John Elsworthy (Wales - 1958)
George Hirst (Scotland - 2026)

Bialkowski, Burley and Elsworthy never played in the World Cup (Elsworthy didn't even travel), but Bart the only keeper so gets a starting spot.

Hirst yet to get on the pitch so Ali gets the nod over him

Karic left us shortly after the World Cup and barely played when he was here so doesn't make the Starting XI

Burley right back, move Mills into midfield and get rid of Al Hamadi

Muhren definitely did. Remember van Bastens wonder goal...i think it was Arnie who put the cross over.

I agree - although with the orinal formation, I'd move Matty Holland out to the right to replace AAH

The Dutch didn't qualify in 1982, which was the only one when they were here.

Yep. 88 Euros. Murhen has long gone from Towen by then of course.

Remember it well cos I left an A Level exam early to catch the end of England v Holland. MVB put us to the sword and I missed Uni by 1 point.

Fooking idiot.
