What a dump Selhurst is. Players warming up in corridors and then walking out through a s5itty plastic tunnel.
Just looks like decent psychology to me. Why create decent facilities for the away side, when you can give them a cramped Portakabin, with not quite enough space?

We do similar. We're the only ground in the PL where the away team coach can't access and the players have to walk.
Also the away team dressing rooms are deliberately bland, white walls, changing room seats deliberately positioned to be disruptive and break up the room so difficult to talk, urinals in inconvenient places, air conditioning unit not working (pl rules states there has to be one, but doesn't state it should be functional....)

Great psychology. The journey from the Portacabin to the pitch is an obstacle course. I wonder how many opposition players come a-cropper on those steps.

Spoke to a manager once who had an opposing view, he thought cold changing rooms and pissing in a bucket had the opposite effect of providing a bit of motivation. He was big on making away players as chilled as possible. Warm, calm lighting, soft chairs etc. Get them all zen.
Selhurst is a dump though. I've got a decent record there as a supporter, Saturday was the 3rd win I've seen in the last 4 games I think. I remember beating them 4-1 and Pim Balkestein looking like Maldini at the back.
The 5-0 defeat in one of McCarthy's first games in charge was bad though. I'm sure they had 3 penalties.

If I had my way, they’d have to walk through dogsht, broken glass, marbles (to knock over the better players) and a pack of wild, hungry German Shepherd dogs and the odd python, Indiana Jones style.
Actually, the reverse might work better. In WW2 when it was going a bit sour for the generals and so forth, we housed them in a big old country house. They were given clean beds, best food and wine, cigars, medical treatment, comfy chairs, kindness. The full five star treatment.
They were confused at first. But after time, they relaxed. Then they be began to talk to each other. And talk. Over time they spilled all they knew. But they never knew we were listening to every word.
So the lesson is. Away team get the best of everything. Five star care, food, booze, women, treatment, TVs, free stuff, anything they want! Might work!
Back to Selhurst, saw it in Feb/Mar for the first time in years sitting with the home supporters. It hadn’t changed - still a dump. I’m staggered they’ve been allowed to invest so little in it by the Premier League.
That departing physio does better fist pumps than I've seen in a long while. Can we not retain him just for those?
Also when Mark Ashton is talking to the mascot "and that's from me to you... " I imagine that where the camera cuts away he adds "so long as you promise to vote Reform when you're old enough, ok?"
