His confidence shouldn’t be shot to pieces as he had a good pre-season. He was playing reasonably well against teams better than Leicester’s level. But you’re right that it looks like it is. It’s weird. Egeli looks like he’s not got the same swagger he had in pre/season too, especially at the weekend. |  |

Got in good positions, held the ball well, was strong…. But his finishing is just awful, so, so bad.

Watching back the highlights really laid down how far off he is as being a decent striker - his hold
Up play was very good - he caused a lot of problems but the finishing was atrocious - no killer instinct at all - the one in one with the keeper at the end and the absolute telegraphed shot was as bad a miss as you will find especially as the keeper was in no man’s land and still about 8 yards away from him. It’s a shame but we need some one who takes chances, you might have one chance in 90 minutes and we can’t have some one who only scores 1 in every 5-7 chances. | | | |

I think this is fair. He held the ball up well with good strength and brought players into the game, a little like Hirst in his prime but unfortunately his finishing was also like George's which we can't afford at this level |  | | |

I keep hoping that he’s going to come good and start banging in the goals for fun. However, PL defences are so much better than Champ/Lg1 so I can’t see it happening for him if he can’t score against a team like Leicester. |  |

But he was up against league one lightweights. I doubt his strength and hold up play would be quite so effective against the likes of Virgil Van Dyke.
Given the opposition I don't think you can make too much of those qualities that you pointed out, which did look ok, but his woeful finishing is a big worry. We definitely need better back up to or competition for Emmersonn |  |

It’s massive leap of faith to think he’ll get more clinical when faced with much better defenders/keepers than he faced tonight |  |
