So, according to their own lawyer, 13:42 - Aug 25 with 1897 viewsGuthrum

the Tate brothers' entire personas and purported lifestyles - which they've used to encourage numerous young men into misogynistic and abusive attitudes, not to mention allegedly mistreating women themselves - are a sham and fraudulent.

Including the basis and framing for their online "get rich quick" courses which people have been paying for.

What utter scumbags. It probably won't, but hopefully this demolishes the entire edifice of their status and celebrity for past and potential dupes/victims. Ending up in jail would be quite a good outcome, too.

I wonder if Rupert Lowe will end up claiming something similar at some point?

The Tate's, and their whole existence, is a perfect example of where we have gone wrong as a species.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I don’t understand why people fall for their sort of stuff. It’s been bleedingly obvious they’re con artists for years. They’ve been called out multiple times, had multiple run ins with the law and yet they still have supporters. It’s bizarre.

Donating his £98,599 salary (net of approximately £5,645 per month) is not the grand gesture he wants people to think it is.

Lowe is worth approximately £30m (and that's not withstanding any other income or interest he receives).

Him donating £5,500-odd a month equates to 0.018% of his net worth. That's the equivalent to the average adult (£19,214 in savings) donating £3.46 to charity each month.

Frankly, Rupert probably donates far less as a percentage of his wealth than most of his constituents.

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

Others, plural.

Don’t forget the scumbags on the formerly ruling blue side of Westminster, esp those with surnames beginning with J or RM.

Thanks, I know he does that.

My point is more that he appears to have worked out that posting divisive rubbish on X is a more profitable use of his time.
I'm not sure that the existence of a global platform, run from another country by someone who thinks it's acceptable to interfere in other countries' politics, that amplifies that kind of content using questionable (at best) tactics is a good thing.

Yes I initially had one person in mind, but it applies to many, many people. Depressingly so.

As soon as they wangle (get Baron Trump to have a word with daddy) their way out of jail they'll leg it somewhere and claim that their lawyers said that to play the system and their followers will belive it.

Like when he got his ass handed to him in that boxing match then claimed he bet against himself.

Absolute grifter scumbags the pair of them and I really hope they get whats coming to them

An MP chucking several grand at a Scout Group, for example, is problematic for me. It looks a lot like vote buying.

If he gave the money anonymously or without any publicity, like normal people do, then it would be a genuinely altruistic gesture.

Even if he said "I give my salary to local charities" and had it audited by a respected local accountant and verified by a couple of community leaders, but didn't specify which charity, that would be fine.

But giving a relatively large sum of money to a community group with a reach in the hundreds and making it very public is close to buying votes, in my opinion.
