As everyone else thought we played superbly for 45 mins, minus a Nunez slip. It's going to be a long season from here on. I do like the first 11 we can put out and for the first time in many a season feel like we have a really good midfield.
People who have watched GON teams should not be surprised how that game went on the end. His teams have the worst stats for almost everything in every prem season he has managed in. We still have a championship defence but feel like we actually have a premier league goal keeper. We don't have premier league ready striker yet.
Really am enjoying watching us this season though. We have variation in our play. We carry a real threat when going forward.
Some big worries:
We are a couple of injuries away from being a really poor team. Our defence needs a lot of work. We need at least two strikers (not a championship standard one)
Overall though actually enjoying this season compared to last time we took on the world's best.

Excellent half of football. on 15:43 - Aug 31 with 379 views
I'm in agreement with you on all the positive aspects, so much to like.
On the injuries, the reality is that every single team outside the top 6/8 is a few injuries from being a much worse team. If you have two in every position thats 22 of the 25 man squad. A few injuries and you are talking about the 20th-25th man being used in every squad.
It is just the reality.
The other reality is it's tough to recruit backups. Everyone we sign is coming to play. How does GON pitch someone to be the third striker or backup LB and inevitably out of the matchday squad? It's not that easy or practical.
