Surely an experienced defender has to be coming in today? 09:16 - Sep 1 with 1008 viewsThatMuhrenCross

O'Neil talks about emotional discipline, and I can't help but feel someone with tonnes of top flight experience as an option at the back would be key in that regard. As much as I want Greaves and O'Shea to succeed, they both have a habit of imploding when things start to go wrong for them in a game. I do think they're good enough, but I also think we really need an experienced partner for Diop should things start to get messy.

I was really hoping Mings would come back.

Looks unlikely now as they have lost Konsa and Mings was on the bench for them last night.

We definitely need a defender though IMO. Preferably someone who can play CB and one of the full back roles. A first choice RB would be nice so O'Shea could move back to CB.

It's a balancing act and not easy to find an experienced defender, happy not to be first choice initially, but will improve squad depth.

After Sunday I have a CB as my main hope for today. Closely followed by a ST, the drop off from Emerson to Akpom was really rather worrying

Thing is Diop has that but he was one of the problems on Sunday

When the sht hit the fan, he went awol, leaving Greaves exposed.
