Did anyone watch the extended video of GTA 6 on Netflix? It looks utterly amazing.

It dawned on me recently that I’m never going to play it. I’ve drifted out of gaming as I’ve got older, and I’m not going to pony up for a new console just to play GTA for a month or so.

Isn't that the whole reason for having kids? So that they get the latest console and you get to play on it?

i thought the same tbh. I still have a PS5 that i got on release day but my boy has taken control of it. I watched the GTA trailer and i was impressed after thinking there's no chance i will buy it. I thought the same about the Wolverine game that's coming out shortly.

I got the James Bond game a few months ago but have played it for 2 hours, work, kids stuff, life i just don't have the time to commit to it anymore. The same with FM26 played it on and off for 3 or 4 months but haven't picked it up for a while.

The photo-realistic CGI that you see in films/tv is clearly coming to games. Looks incredible. Shame PC release is TBA.

Yes. But he’s off doing a phd.

I did get to enjoy his various Nintendo consoles as he grew up though.

Never played Bully, but LA Noire was excellent.

Think I'll probably get it, but maybe when an eventual sale happens.

Before our local GAME shutdown, I would pop in and take advantage of the 4 for £20 offer on pre-owned games, or 3 for 2 etc. Got quite a good PS4/PS5 selection from it!

Currently working my way through Assassin's Creed Odyssey which is incredible.

After $2bn and 13 years of development you’d hope so!

Can’t wait, and also worth pointing out it’s a largely British success story.

Albeit the core Brits at the heart of Rockstars success have largely moved on.

Bizarrely I’m also playing Assasins Creed Odyssey at the moment!

Combat can get a little repetitive but otherwise it’s fantastic, as you say.

I remember the 1st one and a friend had it and were super religious and they realised what it was and it was promptly banned. Was really captivated by it.

Ive still havent got FIFA25 (refuse to call it FC) out of the wrapper and anywhere near my console yet and i bought it release day. If i had more disk storage it would help but I have to delete games off it to play new ones.

If GTA6 was on PS4 id prob get it and play it. But im not sure I want to buy the PS5 anymore not least with the continued price increases, but especially with all the nonsense about forcing you down a path eventually to pay merely to "rent" your game till such time Sony decide they cant be bothered to keep it on their servers and delete it, no refunds, no compensation, you merely pay for a temporary license

Saw a bunch of complaints just this weekend as Sony deleted 551 films people had purchased at full price, because Sonys deal with Studio Canal ran out. And these werent obscure films, it was things like Terminator 2, Rambo, Apocalypse Now etc etc

So you pay Sony storefront 70quid for GTA6, 5-10 years from now they going to let you still play it ? I still play GTA4, let alone GTA5, Red Dead Remption 1 & 2. None of those games can be taken away by Sonys whims.

I thought so too, and then I started experimenting with different loadouts. It's easy to have a favourite loadout.

I think I'm about 100 hours into it and still got a bunch to do.

I'm also thinking about reinstalling Ghost Recon Wildlands as there was a recent update to it with some additional missions.

I haven't played a computer game in decades, but this is such an obnoxious/ridiculous statement from someone who posts frequently on a football message board

Criticising people for how they choose to spend their free time is unbelievably pretentious especially if you're spending your free time doing so

I’m 30 hours in and have barely scratched the surface. Half the map is still greyed out for me as I’ve hardly travelled around in the ship.

Wildlands is a really underrated game. Played it earlier this year and expected it to be a bit soulless, but it really surprised me. I ended up completing all the side missions and DLCs.

One of the younger staff members at work was talking about this last week. I told them to look up GTA 1...they couldn't grasp the 2D dropdown view and refused to believe it was the same game at first.

i was at art college with one of the Dundee DMA design guys who worked on the original games. He’s a sculptor and furniture maker now.

Video game market is worth more than all other forms of media combined - not bad for 'children and Americans'
