Relatively no damage done, in the league, after yesterday's loss 16:08 - Oct 18 with 1654 viewstonybied

I fully expected to be bottom half at the end of this game week. It looks like we may still just end up in the top half, unless Cov manage to win by 2 clear goals tomorrow.

I guess its thanks to so many games being close to call up to now, and teams taking points off one-and-other each week. I think relegation is going to be so hard to predict this season. It feels like the bottom half will end up within a couple of wins at the end of the season.

Cov would have to win by at least three goals to go ahead (or for them to win by the unlikely scoreline of 7 goals to 5), as our Goals For is significantly better than theirs at 11 to 5.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Good point! Hopefully spuds manage to get something out of the game anyway!

But not too much. We don't want them off the foot of the table or anything.

It’s nice to be technically a top half team in autumn but to be honest it’s so jumbled, the only thing I’m looking at is the gap to 18th, two huge games up coming.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I honestly think that type of result … despite the loss … will do us more good than many of our relegation competitors. We scored two at City and lost by just one. I mean any loss isn’t great but must give the lads confidence. Forest failed to score. Looked on course for a point. Beaten by dull Arsenal. Worse for them than us in my opinion.

Do you dare to dream?
If we beat Forest we are in 6th place on 12 pts.
2 of the 4 teams that could overtake us, Brentford and Hull, play each other.
Everton are at Arsenal and Leeds are at Sunderland.
MOTD can again not bother to say much about us as we play Friday.
Everybody's happy.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Cov are such a dislikable set of fans and with Frank at the helm there is nothing more I want than for them to loose by some considerable margin. Spuds will be out if the relegation mix by the end of the season but we want Hull and Cov to be done there so there are two less to worry about.

Our -3 goal does not look so bad now either.

The points situation is more important than table position, most certainly at this point of the season. Exactly halfway, yes. 4 points off the relegation zone. Very important game on Friday night!

That’s pretty much my take on this - we’re unlikely to finish above Spurs, ManUtd or Villa, so if they’re taking points off the likes of Coventry, Hull, Palace, Sunderland that suits us nicely.
