Musicians, 'celebrities', other popular non-political people with consciences and living souls can hopefully get through to voters where politicians and journalists often somehow fail on their own, with just dry 'boring' facts.
It's so important that good, influential non-politicians like Springsteen speak up and speak out to all of our consciences, whichever way we think we're going to vote - it's never too late to listen to your conscience and change your vote.
I'm still crying. Literally.
Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Trump deported over 900k in his first tenure and presently 622k in this period. So still only 50% of Obama's figures. Granted he is catching up at a rate of knots.

The Trump ecosystem ignores any challenge to policy's and direction. Trump was too dumb to realise that 'Born in the USA' was a protest song when he chose it for his rallies. They don't seem to be that close

Guess Trump's tactics seem so ineffective you might wonder why he's really spending $85bn on a paramilitary force that is loyal to him...

Yes. Obama was President in 2014 when the Police killed two unarmed Black men, Eric Garner and Michael Brown in separate incidents. This led to large protests and the national march against police brutality in Washington D.C.the same year.

When they did their budget North Korea military procession through Washington (I think) last year, they were playing CCR’s Fortunate Son. You couldn’t make it up . Self awareness and intelligence seem to be in short supply in that administration.
(For anyone who doesn’t know, copied from Google: ‘John Fogerty wrote "Fortunate Son" in about 20 minutes, driven by his outrage over the Vietnam War, Nixon, and privilege. He cleverly twisted "favorite son" to criticize those who dodged military service.’

Very true. Although they were not killings by federal agents, rather local officers (no distinction to the victims of course, but relevant when comparing the two administrations). I’m sure DHS wasn’t a bunch of roses under Obama; border forces are never angels anywhere.
I love seeing idiots on the socials saying things like 'WhEn DiD bRuCe GeT aLl PoLiTiCaL aNd WoKe' like stiff like 'Born....', '41 Shots' and 'The Rising' never happened.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Or the whole "You went from 'Born in the USA' to this?! What happened to your patriotism?!" crowd.

That's a fair point to make, but the difference is the context. I would say that the police brutality thing is at a local level if you see what I mean. Widespread - of course, getting worse - probably; a problem of individual criminal officers and a culture that absolutely needs to be cracked down on.
But not a centralised, government-sponsored gang of half trained thugs marching around without visible ID doing whatever the hell they please.
I don't know - I'm not there - the shirts are mostly green, not brown, but from a distance it sure looks like proto-fascism to me.

It's like that in a lot of fandoms of long running franchises. Look at the blubbing there has been over Doctor Who the last few years as a prime example.
"It's all gone woke", they cry, when in reality Jon Pertwee was doing stories about enviromentalism and closer ties with our nearest neighbours in 1973 - not to mention the original Star Trek calling out bigotry and showing the first interracial kiss some years before that...

On the World Service this morning it was reported that Native Americans are being targeted and detained by ICE.
The suggestion is that it is due to their skin colour.
One person to whom this happened, when it became clear that he was not an immigrant, was told to go back to where he he came from. When he asked where that was, he was told, the reservation.

Disgusting, but not surprising. It’s not too dissimilar to the KKK but in different masks.

Yep, that was shovking. Violence by police/authority figures has seemed like a regular, almost daily occurrence in the good ol US of A for ever (absolutely not condoning it happening under Obama; in fact, the opposite). I'm going to take a wild guess Mr O and his cabinet ( if they're called that over there) didn't immediately brand the victims as domestic terrorists though.
