and could go back to the time that you decided to support Ipswich....would you make the same decision? Explanations?

It was never a choice.

Was taken to PR by my dad and granddads from a young age.....end of.

There was no decision to make, it was the club I inherited.

No choice, my dad took me. Back then (late 80s) there were definitely less glory hunters who didn't support Ipswich

Being born and bred in West Suffolk, with town supporting parents, it was inevitable that I'd outgrow the childish infatuation I had with Liverpool until I was about 7. Which also happened to be when SBR took over as Manager.

I guess I decided, but I can't really remember the moment. Ipswich was 'favoured' in my family, but not in a very active way.

It's caused me a lot of heartache and stress over the years but I wouldn't change it for the world.

No choice. Family team. Was taken early.

Likewise. I had no choice in the matter. No debate, as soon as I was aware of football at young age that was it. It was the same for my dad who was taken to his first game by his father in 1938 and was lucky enough to see the Div 1 Champions plenty of times that season as well as Robson’s and Burley’s teams.

His dad was into it too, back page of the Evening Star being first port of call, but less so. I think he was more into the social side of everything knowing everyone, including the ITFC directors, in addition to being a trouser shaker with the Freemasons.

So the Time Machine didn’t exist for me. No regrets. From the club badges, old and new, to the unique feeling walking into PR it’s always been my club - which is why I hold Evans, who nearly destroyed the club with his truly appalling ownership, with such contempt and dislike.

Was never really a choice - dad took me to PR when I was little and that was that.

I suppose over the years I could’ve switched to becoming a glory plastic supporter of a bigger club. But for all the lows of supporting Town - the Wembley playoff win, that season in the PL and back-to-back promotions, a glory supporter will never experience those highs to the same level.

Definitely make the same decision

A combination of Geography (Suffolk Boy), liking the colour Blue and weirdly having absolutely zero attachment to Yellow and Green (despite Carrow Road being the home of my first "Live" match)

Appreciate its caused me a lot of misery, but as I tell everyone - the highs are so much better when they are unexpected

Was never a choice.

Given I started following football properly in the mid-90's we've had a few playoff heartaches, promotion, 5th in prem and Europe, relegation, Evans hope, Evans reality of Championship also rans for years, relegation to L1 and a few years of dross down there, promotion, promotion again (ole ole), relegation, now promotion again? Hasn't been too bad a journey in 30 years. A few too many seasons of nothingness in the middle I guess.

Leicester have had a ride. Even in the past 20 years they've won League 1, Championship (twice), Premier league (ridiculous), FA Cup, couple of playoff seasons, few relegations, new ground.

same, ditto

I am an Ipswich boy, it is the done thing. My boys are Towen through and through. I have even converted the missus who's parents were spurs fans, because that is the part of London they were born in.

It's nature and nature should not be messed with

Indeed, and frankly why would I want to go and support anyone else even if I could. That would mean giving up the memories and experiences I've had.

Think I would just go back and do something about the league in 1981 though.

Like Homey, I was taken to Towen at an early age by my grandfather and father and there was never any choice which is not something that I've ever had an issue with. I wouldn't want to support anyone else anyway. All the family support Ipswich and club shirts are sent over to the US and Spain for the kids.

My son was born in Leeds and I never gave him an option to support anyone else despite my Missus trying to get him to support chuffin' Leeds. He's a ST holder and used to travel up from London for matches when he lived there.

Totally. Lucky to support a club with such great tradition but I'm not local. First game was in early 90s and started going a lot in the Burley era. I do wonder if I'd have felt differently if I'd missed that period. Hats off to anybody, especially those not local, who have stuck with it over the last 20 years - they deserve the period we're going through now.

Not sure I could ever feel happier (at football but arguably generally) than some of the moments we've had over the last couple of years. Perhaps winning the FA Cup at Wembley.

One of my better decisions you can change your job. Your wife or husband but not your football team.

My dad and grandad are/were Charlton and they tried hard to persuade me in that direction. Moved to Suffolk aged 4 and went to PR shortly after for the first time and that was it.

Wouldn't change it for anything.

no choice

i might have had a word with myself to not get my hopes up during the evans era to save myself some disappointment! (though the pain made the excitement of the last few years all the better...)

Of course, not that it was ever a choice. I was raised an Ipswich fan, my fiest game was a Town game. That was it. Wouldn't change it, I'll take all the highs and the 20 years of dross post 2002 over being a plastic Utd fan
