| Optimism for the next three - Champ form table 08:33 - Apr 14 with 1518 views | Bellevue_Blue | Championship form table last 6 ... 2. Ipswich Town - best run of form for the whole season --- 20. Charlton Athletic - 1 win from their last 6 at the Valley 22. Portsmouth - Last won at Fratton Park on Jan 31st 23. Middlesborough - Best players injured/ genuine relegation form over last 10 I know Football is not played on paper but we should all be pretty optimistic! | | | | |
| Optimism for the next three - Champ form table on 08:53 - Apr 14 with 1382 views | tractorboy1978 | Southampton aside, we have a good run in of fixtures despite 4 of the 6 being away from home. And we have plenty of rope too - 10 points maximum needed from 6 games, 8 will very likely be enough. | | | |
| Optimism for the next three - Champ form table on 09:02 - Apr 14 with 1325 views | positivity | agree with the general premise, but how is it our best 6 game run of form of the season? we've bettered 3 wins and 3 draws several times (though i'll happily accept a repeat over the next 6!) | |

Its not our best 6 game run of the season. I was just adding general trend notes alongside each team to add more context and in our case that's being 9 Championship games unbeaten which is our longest streak.

This is the second best 9 game form we've had so far this season, 21 points. Cov to Bristol was 22 points, but we are currently unbeaten in 9. Our 9 game form from the Leicester loss/Sheff weds win to the Derby win/Wrexham loss was 20 points. I think they added confusion by showing the form table of the last 6 when the last 10 would have also made for good viewing, and this is every team, showing how favourable this opportunity is right now; 3rd Ipswich town, 1st Southampton - Like I believed back in February against those lot, this game could legitimately favour us. A draw would surely cement it. 11th QPR 13th West Brom - Harder game to win than Southampton in my opinion, I am mostly hoping for a draw because I genuinely think WBA would be more likely to win this game than us. 17th Middlesbrough 19th Charlton 22nd Portsmouth It would be an indescribable tragedy if we couldn't get 10 points out of this. I do not think we will be complacent, I've thought since the Blackburn win that we will get promoted and my mind has not changed since. I am not as confident in our survival hopes next season in the PL, though. We currently scream 19th in my mind. It depends on the recruitment this time round. [Post edited 14 Apr 11:36]

i think cov home to brizzle was even better 9 game form broadly agree, but not taking anything for granted, we've seen big slumps from in form teams throughout this season (though we seem to be the most consistent in regards to this) IF we go up, a lot will depend on who goes up with us, soton are probably still structurally stronger than us after their decade in the prem, whereas i feel confident we can finish above cov and millwall/hull/boro. similarly, we'd have more of a chance next season if spurs drop this year, one of sunderland/leeds/palace are more likely to drop off. So we win tonight and need a max of 7 points from 5 games. Sweet. Imagine being a Boro or Millwall fan at 10pm tonight after that result.

In hindsight, we didn't need to win any of our last 6 matches in 23/24, having eventually finished 6 points ahead of Leeds. At the time most of us thought the likes of Watford and Boro at home were "must win" games... I've a feeling, such is the pressure and form of the chasing pack (and in Southamptons case a major distraction) that the same might be true now and we might not need to win another game. 6 draws will take us to 81... I think we'll collect more than that, mind, but the perspective is any draw is a decent result.

i posted earlier that 6 draws would mean soton and boro would have to be perfect in their other games to catch us, and millwall would need 3 wins out of 4. that said, i'd far rather put it to bed with some early wins!

They wouldn't have to be perfect, they could afford to draw one.
