I was always a fan of the boy ‘Bump’

Tremendous resilience in the face of constant adversity. Just bandaged himself up and got on with it, rather like Terry Butcher. Also the decision to go and work as an apple picker in Mr Barleys orchard, where he could bump the apples off the tree and catch them is a great example of making the most of your gifts and abilities, not to mention the excellent hand eye coordination he must have. Youngsters today would get themselves signed off on PIP and just sit around feeling sorry for themselves whereas Mr Bump focused on what he could do and did it well.
