| I’m sure I’ve read quite a number of ‘def info’ statements of the salary 18:25 - Aug 14 with 684 views | John_Warks_Willy | covered for Kalvin Phillips. The top end statements in support of why we can go for this Argentinian fella, the bottom end a demonstration of how we’d never be able to stretch that far further. So, do we definitively know what we paid in salary for KP? [Post edited 14 Aug 18:31]

We know our wage bill for 24/25, so anyone saying he was on £140k/week is saying 1/8th of our wage bill went to Phillips. That seems highly unlikely. Our average per player for that years was ~£45k/week. The spread was probably £20-70k/week. Phillips was likely our top earner. £70k/week would have us picking up 50% of his estimated ManC wage. Nothing concrete, but I put forward this is plausible and base on the facts we do know. However, to your point, what we paid in 24/25 and to Phillips is totally irrelevant to this year - the circumstances have completely changed. | | | |
