Humphreys plays too safe for me. Just floats around making sure he doesnr lose the ball. Looks great if thats what you like but he doesnt push

It’s been woeful. Poor. Leicester reserves on top.
Biggest issue up front. We have two strikers at the club. I hope Ashton is on the phone right now bringing in a third. Frankly arguably need another as Akpom … oh dear. Not good enough at League One level based on that.

Humphries needs to move on, for his sake as much as anything else. He’s probably 6th choice here already once Matusiwa & Taylor are fit, even before we add another.
Clearly a tidy player technically but he’s never looked a 6 or 8. Reminds me a bit of Andre Dozzell.

This highlights the frustration I’ve had with some of the talk that last year’s team have an important role to play this season. Before we kicked a ball, I’d have said only O’Shea was up to it (obviously anyone of our squad can play in the PL, but I’m talking about being competitive and establishing ourselves in the PL). Philogene could be with a bit more reliability/consistency. Clarke an outside shout who didn’t do his case any harm on Saturday but was a bit lost before the goal.
Other than those we need to improve our squad depth quite substantially or be very, very lucky with injuries. |  |

A bit disjointed. Caught offside far too often although the TV looks like several of those were wrong calls (clearly no angle to see properly on TV) - would love to see them from in line to see how close they were.

He’s got that in him, just not sure what he ‘stands for’. Off the ball he’s not a destroyer, ball winner. On it he’s not got the tenacity of a Taylor to be a conventional 8.
No doubt he’ll have a good career, but it won’t be in the premier league and it won’t be with Ipswich.
Really wish him well though, great head on his shoulders. | | | |

Last year's squad did it's job but it was not built for the Premier League. As you say, O'Shea has a role to play, as well as Davis, but everyone else can be moved on if we get the right bid. Some, like Clarke, may be able to play a role from the bench but we there are huge question marks over them if we have to rely on them being starters. | |
